The Economics Department anticipates a tenure-track opening for an assistant professor beginning September 16, 2015. Candidates must have a Ph.D. by the start of employment, energy economics as their primary field, strong research ability, and evidence of teaching effectiveness or strong potential. Preference will be given to candidates who are knowledgeable about energy policy and institutions, and to candidates who have a demonstrated interest in energy efficiency or renewable energy. The person chosen will receive an academic appointment in the Economics Department and will have an ongoing and formal affiliation with WWU’s Institute for Energy Studies (www.wwu.edu/energy). The position entails teaching, scholarship, and service that support the Department and the Institute. Review of application materials begins November 18, 2014 and continues until the position is filled. Interviews will be conducted at the ASSA meetings in Boston, January 3-5, 2015. Priority for interview scheduling will be given to applications completed by December 1, 2014.
