Agribusiness - Food Marketing:
Full-time, 10-month academic year, tenure track Assistant Professor position within the Agribusiness Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California. Preferred start date is September 14, 2015. The successful candidate will have teaching, research, and service activities based on the Cal Poly Teacher-Scholar model.

Candidates with produce industry experience and/or those with interests closely related to produce marketing, produce sales, and the food supply chain are strongly encouraged to apply.

Teaching responsibilities will be primarily in the areas of produce and food marketing. Examples of potential Agribusiness courses may include Food and Fiber Marketing, Produce Marketing, Category Management, Agribusiness Marketing Research Methods, Agribusiness Marketing Planning, and Food Supply Chain Management. Duties may also include, but are not limited to, supervision of undergraduate senior projects, graduate student research, and student advising.

The successful candidate will engage in research-based scholarship that will lead to peer-reviewed journal articles. As a part of professional development, the successful candidate is expected to participate in scholarly activities, work closely with the California food industry, and carry out a focused area of scholarship (research, grant writing, publications, and presentations). Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interests in undergraduate teaching are required. Service activities will include participation on department, college, and university committees and instructionally related activities.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Doctorate degree by starting date required. We seek applications from those who have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and research interest in the area of produce marketing. Agribusiness industry experience, marketing experience, international experience, and/or the desire to cultivate international links are desirable.
