We specialize in anti-trust, intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, risk valuation, class certification, options and other traded contracts, and complex damage estimation. Our practices cover a broad range of industries, including financial services, securities, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, insurance, agricultural and food industries, high-tech manufacturing, mining, construction and retail services.

Position Available

A full time Economist position is available immediately. Base salary is highly competitive and includes a large bonus potential. Our robust benefits package includes, but is not limited to, medical and dental benefits, gym membership, and group term life insurance.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an individual to devise and implement rigorous economic analysis, to oversee and mentor our outstanding junior staff and to help coordinate our project schedules. The right candidate will be able to take the large datasets we work with and transform them into the foundation for our damage analyses and expert reports. They will also be the clients’ contact for projects and will manage the scope and objectives from initial discovery through report filing and deposition and/or trial testimony. This individual must be able to work under tight deadlines and must be highly organized in order to manage the workflow of office staff.


The key responsibilities of this position include:

•Identifying key economic and financial issues and developing relevant analytic frameworks
•Reviewing, summarizing and analyzing industry trends
•Designing and building financial and quantitative models
•Applying statistical and econometric methods to economic and financial data
•Coding software routines to implement complex analyses
•Preparing memos, expert reports, trial exhibits and other presentation materials
•Managing analysts and junior staff
•Planning regularly scheduled status meetings with staff
•Preparing expert witnesses for trial testimony

Qualifications

Ph.D. required in Economics or Financial Economics, with strong emphasis in industrial organization, finance, econometrics, agricultural economics, valuation methods, trade or related fields. Extensive experience using STATA or SAS is required. Consulting experience is a plus.

Candidates must be detailed orientated with excellent communication skills. Analytical and programming competence is required as well as experience working with large datasets. As we work under various deadlines the ideal candidate would have a high energy level and the ability to work quickly and pragmatically while maintaining a good sense of humor.
