The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong. There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following post:

Executive Director (Research)

Key Responsibilities
• To direct the activities of the Research Department, providing intellectual and technical leadership to a professional team on the provision of high-quality research support on economic, monetary and financial areas
• To represent the HKMA in regional and international conferences, meetings and seminars
• To establish and maintain research networks with other central banks and international financial organisations
• To participate in the management of the HKMA as a member of the Chief Executive’s Committee, and to advise the Chief Executive on various policy issues relating to HKMA’s functions
• To direct the Hong Kong Institute for Monetary Research (HKIMR) and to raise its reputation as a top research institute in monetary economics and finance in Asia. To attract internationally prominent economists as Visiting Research Fellows, and to organise seminars and activities that raise the HKIMR’s reputation as a centre for central bank cooperation


Requirements
• Very strong economic background, typically holds a Ph.D in economics. Experienced staff specializing in research in a leadership role
• Very strong record of research output
• Excellent presentation skills and solid management experience
• Strategic thinking with a strong team orientation

Remuneration Package
