Primary Purpose:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, conduct scholarly research and publish in peer-reviewed academic journals, pursue funded research opportunities, provide service to the students, College, University, and profession, and support the economic development mission of the College and University.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching (60%)
Research (30%)
Service (10%) – To include service to the students, College, and University, as well as service to the academic discipline and the profession.

The workload distribution above simply serves as a guideline. Adjustments may be made in cooperation with the faculty member, at the discretion of the Dean and Department Chair, depending on the level of research, grant funding, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Economics, or closely related field, from a regionally accredited university. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate will be considered, provided that all degree requirements are completed by August 15, 2015. Candidates at the Associate level must have a minimum of 4 years of full-time college or university teaching at the rank of Assistant Professor (or equivalent) and provide evidence of teaching excellence as well as evidence of scholarly achievement, as indicated by refereed publications, works under review, works-in-progress, and funded research. Candidates must have a desire and demonstrated ability to teach courses, and to conduct research, in health care economics and/or health care policy. Practical experience the in health care field is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated desire and/or ability to do community-based research, demonstrated desire and/or ability to seek and obtain external funding.
