The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is seeking to fill one or more positions for Economists and/or Senior Economists in its Office of Research. The Office of Research is an interdisciplinary group of economists and behavioral researchers who study a wide range of topics, including consumer decision-making, household financial behavior, and markets for consumer financial services. Economists work collaboratively with professionals from other offices within the CFPB to provide analytic support in the areas of policy development, regulations, consumer education and engagement, bank and non-bank supervision, fair lending, and enforcement. Economists also engage in self-directed research in support of the Bureau’s mission.

We are seeking motivated candidates who will thrive in a dynamic work environment. Candidates should possess a strong research focus as well as an interest in working with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, industry practitioners, and attorneys.
