The Institute was founded in 2005 with a mission to provide better economic information and analysis for Southwest Florida. The Institute currently maintains a regional economic database, prepares and distributes a monthly economic indicator report for Southwest Florida, completes a quarterly executive business climate survey and report, and completes several special studies and reports each year. In addition, the Institute supports work on understanding regional workforce issues, assisting economic development organizations, and working with the regional planning council. Minimum Qualifications: Earned Ph.D. in Economics or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation. Experience producing applied regional economic studies. Evidence of teaching excellence and the ability to develop and maintain an active research program. Ability and willingness to provide high profile presentations. Ability to manage the operations of the Regional Economic Research Institute (RERI) and provide strategic leadership for its continued development.
