The Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics seeks to hire an Assistant Professor to conduct research and teach topics related to collection and use of large scale, high frequency, or high resolution data.

ACE has a strong reputation for conducting research related to commercial agriculture, environmental economics, and policy. Although no single definition exists, the term “Big Data” has recently emerged to represent many issues that arise from the collection and use of large scale, high frequency, or high resolution data. The individual filling this position will develop a research program which analyzes the economic implications related to these issues. The person filling this position will be expected to: (1) develop a nationally-prominent research program with publications in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and (2) contribute to the Department’s undergraduate and graduate teaching programs through teaching (generally two courses per year) and student advising.

Ph.D. in agricultural/applied economics, economics, finance, or related field required. Candidates should show potential for a strong research and teaching program in their area of specialization.
