Diego Portales University, Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position at the full-time Assistant or Associate Professor level with an Autumn 2015 start date, with a 12 month service period. Preferences will be given to the following fields: Applied Micro, Political Economy, Development and Industrial Organization.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, one research paper, evidence of teaching ability and three letters of recommendation. Applicants should have the Ph.D. degree in a relevant field by the start of the appointment and will be expected to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching and independent research. Priority will be given to applications received by November 30, 2014.

Faculty duties include research as well as teaching. Salaries are competitive and will be determined according to the candidates' qualifications. Applicants are expected to be able to teach undergraduates courses in
Spanish after one year.

Diego Portales is a young private University has a strong comminment to quality research and graduate and undergraduate teaching. The Department offers a M.A. degree and next year will begging offering a Ph.D. degree.
