Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Harvard Kennedy School seeks candidates for a new senior Professorship of Social Innovation. The professorship is open to both distinguished practitioners, especially those with a deep understanding of social entrepreneurship, and to tenure-level scholars in fields related to social innovation, including social entrepreneurs, social intrapreneurs and, more broadly, social change makers. We expect to fill the position at the level of either tenured Professor or Professor of Practice. Candidates should offer a record of practice-oriented insight into effective social change and a leadership capacity to shape the future of the field, working with scholars as well as major social change agents. Candidates must have either a demonstrated record of excellence or clear potential to teach at the graduate level, shaping practice-oriented courses and pedagogy, and mentoring early-stage social entrepreneurs. The successful candidate will also be expected to launch and lead a social innovation accelerator, ensuring the highest caliber of projects and students in the program; participate in the leadership of the Hauser Institute for Civil Society at the School; build community and resources at the Kennedy School and Harvard University that meet the intense level of student interest and demand in social innovation; and exercise thought leadership, visibility, and influence within the social entrepreneurship practice community in the US and globally. Please send curriculum vitae, list of references, and examples of published work to: Professor David Gergen, Center for Public Leadership, John F. Kennedy School of Government, 79 JFK Street, Cambridge, MA 02138. Qualified women and members of minority groups are encouraged to apply.
