The School of Public Affairs (SPA) in the College of Public Programs at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for one tenure-track faculty position in economics at the Assistant Professor level. The School seeks an applied micro-economist with a strong commitment to policy-relevant research in such fields as labor, health, and education economics, as well as regulatory policy or economic development.

Applicants must demonstrate teaching interests in core areas of public policy, and should be willing to teach an advanced Doctoral seminar in economics as well as courses in quantitative methods and program evaluation.

SPA, the #16 ranked program overall in public policy and administration and #2 in urban policy and management, has embarked upon a period of unprecedented growth as a strategically important element in ASU’s emergence as a “New American University.” The School is home to a number of applied research centers that focus on areas such as science and technology policy, urban innovation, organizational design, and policy informatics. SPA faculty engage in highly productive research agendas and attract external funding from numerous national and international scientific agencies, foundations, and the private sector.

SPA offers Bachelor degrees in Urban and Metropolitan Studies and in Public Service and Public Policy, a Master of Public Policy (MPP), a Master of Public Administration (MPA), and a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy.
