The Department of Health Policy and Management at the University of South Florida is recruiting for two faculty positions. We welcome applicants from a broad range of interests in health policy and management.

The University of South Florida is a metropolitan institution located in Tampa, Florida. USF offers comprehensive programs in public health, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, allied health sciences, business, engineering, arts and sciences, education, social work, and creative arts. USF offers unique opportunities for collaboration and research with institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Tampa Bay area is a dynamic and growing metropolitan area of over two million residents that offers a wide range of cultural, artistic, athletic, and recreational activities, excellent public schools, close proximity to Gulf of Mexico beaches and an affordable cost of living.

The USF College of Public Health was founded in 1986. The COPH consists of five departments and numerous federally funded research centers. The Department of Health Policy & Management (HPM) is a growing Department with a commitment to teaching and interdisciplinary research. HPM offers a CAHME accredited MHA program, Ph.D. in Health Services Research, and four MPH concentrations, which include Health Policy and the Public Health Practice Program. The Department also has growing collaborations with the USF College of Medicine, College of Business, College of Pharmacy, and other Colleges within the University that provide opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching and research.

Positions Offered: Assistant/Associate Professor in Health Policy & Management, 12 month tenure-earning appointment.

Minimum qualifications: Doctoral/terminal degree in Public Health, Health Services, Health Administration, Management, Economics, Law, or a related field. Experience in and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring graduate students. Expertise in conducting health services research and a record of accomplishment in scholarly research. For appointment at the rank of Associate Professor, a minimum of five years of academic experience as an Assistant and/or Associate Professor is required as well as a research record that includes lead-authored peer reviewed publications in journals of at least national recognition.

Preferred qualifications: A defined research focus area in health policy or management. Experience in mentoring doctoral students. A record of scholarship that includes collaborative research. A strong record in obtaining extramural funding through competitive processes. Evidence of collaborative professional relationships.

Responsibilities: Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses and advising MPH, MHA and PhD students. Service on doctoral committees, and leadership in University, professional and community activities are also expected. Research activities should produce peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding.
