Full Text of JOE Listing:
Arnaud Costinot (MIT) and Dave Donaldson (MIT) are looking to hire someone to begin as a full-time research assistant in the summer of 2013. Conditional on performance, we hope to fill the position for 1 to 2 years. The salary is $40,000 per annum.

The successful candidate would take on an important role in our joint and individual research projects in the fields of International Trade, Development Economics, Economic History, Economic Geography/Urban Economics, and Applied Microeconomics more generally. All of these projects combine economic theory and empirical work.

We are looking for a highly-motivated person who can work efficiently and carefully with close attention to detail. The ideal candidate would be able to follow instructions closely, while also being self-motivated and able to work independently. The candidate must possess (at the time of starting) an undergraduate degree, with excellent grades, in Economics or another quantitative field (such as, but not limited to, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Physics). Experience with computer programming (in general-purpose languages and/or statistical/numerical computing software such as Stata or Matlab) is extremely desirable.
