Full Text of JOE Listing:
Northwestern University Department of Economics seeks a full time, continuing lecturer beginning 2013-14. Our lecturers teach six undergraduate classes per year (two classes per quarter) with 3-4 course preparations per year, in a mix of introductory, intermediate and upper-level classes. Lecturers may be able to teach advanced undergraduate classes in their particular areas of interest. Our lecturers have considerable autonomy in how they run their classes (with full support by graduate student TAs), but we also expect that they participate in the intellectual life of the department. The positions are not tenure-track, but are multiple year and renewable. Compensation is highly competitive, the economics department is highly ranked, and the Chicago area is a wonderful place to live. Hiring decision places highest priority on evidence of previous teaching success documented by student evaluations, including both numerical scores and student comments. PhD required by 8/31/13. Please also submit cover letter and three letters of recommendation. Materials must be received by December 1, 2012. Northwestern is committed to affirmative action, equal opportunity and the diversity of its workforce. AA/EOE
