Full Text of JOE Listing:
Berlin's academic research institutions in economics cooperate more and more closely. Three academic institutions in Berlin - the School of Business and Economics at Humboldt-University Berlin (HU), the Deutsches Institut fuer Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW Berlin) and the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin fuer Sozialforschung (WZB)- jointly seek to fill

5 Postdoc positions

for 3 years (according to German WissZeitVG - E 13 TV-L HU or E 14 TV-L)

Applicants from all fields of economics are invited to apply. Each of the 5 positions will be hosted and administered by one of the three institutions. The search committee consists of staff from each of the three institutions and will consider all applicants for each position. It is possible to split the positions, such that an individual Postdoc researcher can hold two halves of positions at two separate institutions.

Successful candidates at DIW Berlin or WZB will contribute part of their time to long-term research projects. Successful candidates at HU will contribute part of their time to teaching at the Master and Bachelor level. All successful candidates will contribute to teaching at the PhD level. Teaching at Master and PhD levels is in English. The main focus of all 5 positions is academic research.

Successful candidates should hold a PhD in economics or a closely related discipline. Ideally, candidates should have a strong research interest, educational background and research experience in one or multiple of the following sub-fields: econometrics, economic theory, behavioral economics, finance, macroeconomics, and applied microeconomics.

Both full-time and part-time work is possible. Each of the advertising institutions offers a family-friendly work environment.

For further information, please contact Andrea Jonat (ajonat@diw.de) or Georg Weizsaecker (gweizsaecker@diw.de).

All three institutions seek to increase the proportion of female faculty members. Thus, qualified women are particularly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to disabled persons with equal qualifications. Applicants with migration background are highly welcome.

Applications and letters of recommendation should be sent by 16 November 2012 in electronic form to Bewerbung@diw.de, stating the reference number AN/112/12. Interviews will be held at the ASSA meetings.
Application Instructions:

Applicants should submit a statement outlining their research plans and their motivations for joining at least one of the three institutions, a detailed curriculum vitae, copies of degree certificates, and teaching evaluations if available. Applicants are required to organize the separate submission of two academic letters of recommendation.
