The George Mason University, School of Public Policy (SPP) is recruiting in the field of public finance.

Applications at the associate professor- or advanced assistant professor-level are particularly encouraged, though we also invite applications by more senior applicants. Candidates should have a commitment to teaching and research in public policy, and a strong record of scholarship and publications. Applied experience in public finance, and experience obtaining and conducting funded research projects are desirable.

George Mason University is the largest university in Virginia. In 2012, the U.S. News and World Report ranked Mason as the top "up and coming" university in the nation. The most recent Shanghai Rankings of World Universities ranks Mason among the top 100 universities in the Americas overall, and as one of the top 50 universities in the world in the social sciences.

One of the university's most research-intensive and entrepreneurial units, SPPhas about 60 full-time teaching and research faculty, 150 doctoral students, and 850 master's-level students. Teaching in the school typically takes place in weekly graduate seminars with a maximum enrollment of 25 students. Located at the university's Arlington campus, 10 minutes from downtown Washington, D.C., on a direct Metro line, SPP is at the crossroads of government, nonprofit organizations, and private industry.
