The American Economic Review: Information for Reviewers

To submit your report, log in to your Manuscript Central account Go to your "Reviewer Center" and follow the instructions to submit your report.

Guidelines for Preparing a Referee Report: We encourage you to read these guidelines provided by Jonathan Berk, Campbell Harvey and David Hirshleifer and posted here with their permission. Their guidelines do not represent official AEA policy, but you may find them helpful.

As the AER is a blind review, we kindly ask you not to use your name in the body or filename of your report.

All manuscript submissions are now accompanied by Disclosure Statements prepared by the author(s). However, recommendations should not be based on whether potential conflicts of interest exist, but on whether the conclusions are robust, credible, and worthy of publication.

The AER pays $100.00 for timely reports. Payment is by Paypal or Check. Payments are processed monthly.

Update your Address: For you to receive payment we must have your current address.

Login to your Manuscript Central account - - and click the "Edit Account" button located in the upper right-hand corner to update your contact information.
