CSMGEP: Ivan Vidangos

Ivan Vidangos is Chief of the Labor Markets section of the Division of Research and Statistics at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Prior to that he was a Special Advisor to Fed Governor Lael Brainard and a Principal Economist in the Labor Markets section. His work at the Board centers on analysis and research on the U.S. labor market. He has also been Economist and Senior Economist in the Fiscal Analysis and Flow of Funds sections, where his work concentrated on U.S. fiscal policy and public pensions. His research is primarily focused on questions pertaining to earnings and employment dynamics, income risk, and economic inequality. He has also conducted research on racial and ethnic disparities in the labor market and heterogeneity in the economic returns to a college education. His research has been featured in the Financial Times, New York Times, Washington Post, Bloomberg, Forbes, and other media outlets. Dr. Vidangos grew up in Bolivia and holds a Ph.D. in economics from Yale University.
