Sonic Foundry recommends the following system requirements for the best presentation viewing experience with Mediasite Player:

  • Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, or Macintosh OS X
  • Display resolution of 800 x 600 pixels or greater
  • Windows-compatible sound card
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0. Limited support. See release note.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0
  • Windows Media Player 9.0
  • Broadband Internet connection (256 Kbps & above)

Notes:

  • Configure pop-up blockers to allow site pop-ups. Otherwise, presentations will not appear.
  • See Viewing Presentations on a Mac for Mac related issues.
  • By default Windows Media Player can only be embedded in Internet Explorer. To view Mediasite presentations using Firefox over Windows Vista or Windows XP:

    • Use the ActiveX Plug-in you are prompted to download when you first attempt to view a presentation,

      or

    • Copy the Windows XP plug-in dlls to your machine following these instructions.

    • or

    • Download Silverlight from here.

Two articles published in the American Economic Review and one article published in the Journal of Economic Literature in 2008 have received an Emerald Management Reviews Citation of Excellence. Now in their thirteenth year, these distinguished annual awards recognize the 50 outstanding articles published by the top 400 management journals in the world. The articles are:

"Great Expectations and the End of the Depression," by Gauti B. Eggertsson (AER, September 2008)

"Zombie Lending and Depressed Restructuring in Japan," by Ricardo J. Caballero, Takeo Hoshi, and Anil K Kashyap (AER, December 2008)

" Dispelling some misconceptions about agricultural trade liberalization," by Stephen Tokarick (JEP, Winter 2008)

Announcements:

The 2009 John Bates Clark Medal was awarded by the AEA on April 24, 2009, to Emmanuel Saez.

Steven J. Davis (University of Chicago) has succeeded Olivier Blanchard (MIT) as editor of the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, and John Leahy (NYU) is the new coeditor.

David Autor (MIT) has succeeded Andrei Shleifer (Harvard) as editor of the Journal of Economic Perspectives.
