Subscriptions to AEA Journals

During 2006 and 2007, the American Economic Review was the most widely consulted journal among all 775 scholarly journals that are archived in JSTOR.

Institutional Subscriptions - (Libraries, Institutions, and Firms)

Libraries, institutions, firms, and other organizations may subscribe to the American Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Literature, and the Journal of Economic Perspectives. Please see our INSTITUTIONAL SUBSCRIPTION ORDER FORM.

Online Full-Text Journal Subscriptions

Institutions with a current print or CD subscription to AEA journals may add an electronic subscription for a fee of $375 in 2008. Electronic site licenses include access to issues of all three AEA journals from 2002 forward as long as the subscription is active. The site license runs concurrently with one print/CD subscription. Institutions may add an electronic subscription immediately or may wait until their renewal date to activate online access.

Access for institutions to the American Economic Association electronic journals is provided by Atypon Link and IngentaConnect. Please note the following exceptions to the Atypon Link and IngentaConnect General Guidelines.

The site license to access the American Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Literature, and the Journal of Economic Perspectives terminates when a subscription expires.

Sites are defined as campuses within a six-mile radius as well as authorized remote users accessing the online journals through the campus IP address. Remote campuses beyond a six mile radius must purchase a separate subscription regardless of the location of the administration.

Personal Membership/Subscriptions

An AEA membership includes subscriptions to the American Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Perspectives, and the Journal of Economic Literature. A membership also includes access to e-AER, e-JEL, and e-JEP as well as to the new search service EconLit for Members, coming in March 2007. See the AEA Membership form for information on becoming a member of the American Economic Association, or contact the American Economic Association Business Office. Only individuals may become members of the American Economic Association. Libraries, institutions, and firms may subscribe to AEA publications.

Change of Address Notice

Change of address notice must be received at least six (6) weeks prior to the publication month. A membership or subscription paid twice is automatically extended for an additional year unless otherwise requested. Send all change of address notices to the American Economic Association Business Office.
