The Journal of Economic LiteratureEditor's Note (March 2000)Electronic Delivery of the Journal of Economic Literature With this issue, the Journal of Economic Literature switches from using print to using electronic media to disseminate bibliographic information. An electronic version of the Journal, e-JEL, is available for individual AEA members on the American Economic Association web site, www.e-JEL.org. The e-JEL site includes the articles and book reviews from the current issue of the Journal. It also provides an indexed archive of articles and book reviews since December 1994. The e-JEL site also lists the current quarter's new journal publications from EconLit, the electronic bibliographic service. The listings are in hypertext format with links to abstracts and full EconLit records, which contain links to the publishers' web sites for about 75 percent of the journals. The development of e-JEL allows the Journal to take advantage of the flexibility and convenience of electronic publication. For many years, the print version of the Journal has been able to list the contents of only a fraction of economics journals. The e-JEL web site provides much more information about current publications than did the print version of the Journal. Although omitted from the printed issue, the Contents of Current Periodicals, the Subject Index of Articles in Current Periodicals, and the Author Index will continue to be included on the CD version of JEL*. In fact, these sections on the CD have been expanded to include all of the journals indexed in EconLit as well as those included on e-JEL, along with abstracts. While e-JEL can be accessed only by Association members** via a password, institutions (libraries, institutions, or firms) may subscribe to JEL on CD-ROM***. Please note that the CD is cumulative. The current one includes JEL issues back to December 1994. JOHN MCMILLAN
