The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology seeks a one-year visiting assistant professor in economics as a sabbatical replacement to start August 2014. The position requires teaching principles of economics and intermediate microeconomics, as well as developing elective courses in the candidate's areas of interest suitable for undergraduate students. Preferred area of interest is international trade and globalization. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is required. Candidates must have an earned PhD or be near completion in Economics. Essential job functions include: classroom teaching, student advising, curriculum development and continuous improvement of curriculum, service, committee work, and professional development. For fifteen consecutive years U.S. News and World Report has ranked Rose-Hulman first among engineering colleges that do not offer a PhD. EEO/AA
