The Department of Economics at Missouri State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track assistant professor to start in August 2014. Candidates must have a PhD or ABD in economics, with a research specialization in an applied microeconomics field. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of excellent teaching, exemplary communication skills, and a commitment to quality research resulting in publications. Teaching responsibilities will include principles, industrial organization and healthcare economics. Other teaching responsibilities might include intermediate microeconomics, behavioral economics, labor, international, and our senior research seminar.

The Department offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in economics and offers courses for a number of graduate programs on campus. Duties will include teaching nine hours per semester, committee work, student recruitment, and possibly grant writing. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required. Successful candidates must be committed to working with diverse students and community populations.
