The Impact Evaluation Team in the Development Research Group of the World Bank is seeking to recruit several impact evaluation economists. This team coordinates and implements a wide range of evaluations related to development policy interventions, primarily in the context of World Bank-financed projects, with the aim of producing rigorous evidence to inform policy.

Impact evaluation economists are expected to lead the design and implementation of impact evaluations in collaboration with operational and policy partners, build capacity on the use of evidence-based policy within country governments, and promote knowledge transfers between World Bank researchers, operational staff and the broader impact evaluation community.

We seek candidates with interests in empirical field research in developing countries and (i) strong technical skills in the area of impact evaluation and micro-econometrics; (ii) the ability to communicate technical knowledge and expertise in a policy environment; and (iii) excellent spoken and written proficiency in English. Experience in developing countries and language proficiency in French, Spanish and Portuguese preferred.

We are considering new PhDs as well as more experienced candidates with relevant post-doctoral experience.
