The College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University announces a tenure-track assistant professor position in economics to begin academic year 2014-2015. We seek a teacher-scholar with expertise in applied microeconomics and quantitatively-oriented public policy analysis. The annual teaching load of six undergraduate courses may include a one-semester Introduction to Economics, Economics of the Public Sector, Microeconomic Theory, and an upper division applied public policy course in health, education, law, or urban/rural/regional economics. The successful candidate will be committed to the ideals of liberal arts education and will teach in the colleges' Common Curriculum, be involved in undergraduate research, and participate in programs such as the McCarthy Center for Public Policy and Civic Engagement or other interdisciplinary programs such as Asian Studies, Gender Studies, and Latino/Latin American Studies. Ph.D. in hand by September 2014 required.

Saint John's University, a liberal arts college for men, and the College of Saint Benedict, a liberal arts college for women, are located four miles apart in Central Minnesota just outside St. Cloud and 70 miles from Minneapolis. Both are Catholic colleges in the Benedictine tradition. Together, the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University offer a common undergraduate curriculum, identical degree requirements, and a single academic calendar. The colleges offer the distinct benefit of two nationally recognized Catholic, undergraduate institutions and one exceptional education.
