Bank of Mexico, the Mexican central bank, is interested in hiring experienced or newly qualified Ph.D.s in economics or related fields for its headquarters in Mexico City to work at its Evaluation of Financial Services Division (part of the Directorate General for Financial System Affairs). Economists carry out high quality, policy oriented research for publication in refereed journals and Central Bank reports and to inform and support the Bank's senior management. In particular, the Division's work is focused on:
- Competition in banking
- Financial consumer behavior & protection
- Ex-ante and ex-post evaluation of regulation
- Financial transparency and information
- Financial inclusion

Bank of Mexico provides an excellent working and research environment. Salary and benefits are competitive. A good command of spoken and written Spanish is required.
