Wells Fargo s Corporate Model Risk Management group, a part of Corporate Risk, is seeking a senior credit risk consultant to join its model validation team.

This position will play a leading role in reviewing and validating a wide variety of statistical models used by the bank, including credit loss forecasting, stress testing, economic capital, and scoring models, and be a key contributor in developing effective model validation processes and conducting thorough model assessments toward the goal of providing a constructive effective challenge to model developers, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory rules and WFC model policies. Specific duties include assessing key underlying modeling assumptions, validating the model s structure/data/code, reviewing the model s developmental process and documentation, and evaluating the model s outputs. Reviews include the completion of comprehensive validation reports that include identification of issues, development of appropriate solutions, and recommendations to business units and senior management. This individual is expected to provide analytical and modeling support to the business units and corporate community as needed, and help train/coach junior analyst within the team. Successful candidate should be able to interact with model builders and stakeholders effectively during all model life cycle stages, and to partner with other Corporate Credit and Risk teams in order to ensure the effective functioning of model build/use/evaluation processes and the provision of consistent guidance.

The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of and experience in credit risk scorecard, loss forecasting, econometric methods, predictive hazard modeling, statistical simulation, optimization, and data sampling; good understanding of the regulatory Basel framework and credit risk management procedures; experience managing and working with large databases, effective written and verbal communication skills, and a strong teamwork spirit.

Basic Qualifications:
--10+ years reporting and analytical experience or a minimum of a Master's degree in programs such as Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Accounting, Finance, Economics or Computer Sciences with 5+ years related industry experience.
--CFA or CPA preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
--Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (econometrics, operations research, statistics, finance, mathematics, etc.)
--A minimum of 5 years work experience, directly related to credit risk management and modeling.
--Familiarity with model validation and risk measurement best practices and methodologies.
--Capable of working on cross-organizational projects and influencing decisions by effectively partnering with business units and other related parties.
--Strong conceptual and quantitative problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to think creatively.
--Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to document and present model validation process and results suitable for audiences of all levels.
