The individual selected for this position will be administratively RDNR/DRDA/OCBD/FAS/USDA. Although the incumbent will be employed by USDA, s/he will be located and work directly with the U.S. Agency for International Development, Bureau for Economic Growth, Education and Environment (E3), Office of Global Climate Change.

The USAID Global Climate Change Office is responsible for technical leadership and support to USAID's climate change programs, related to Adaptation, Clean Energy, and Sustainable Landscapes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for forging strong professional partnerships with other federal agencies in developing and implementing inter-agency efforts to address climate change in cooperation with developing nations. S/he will provide technical support and USAID missions and bureaus in the development and implementation of USAID climate change programs , particularly those related to the EC-LEDS. EC-LEDS activities build host government capacity for economic analysis of proposed climate actions and promote developing country participation in emerging international environmental markets. S/he will also develop and maintain strong collaboration with the Agency's economists and private sector officers and promote integration of climate adaptation and mitigation objectives in the Agency's traditional economic programs.
