ERIA is recruiting for the following senior positions:
- Economist
- Energy Economist

----Economist----
Job Duties:
Under broad direction of the Governing Board, Executive Director, or other senior managerial officials,
1. Undertake analytical and quantitative policy-oriented works and posit policy recommendations on study topics related to deepening economic integration, narrowing development gaps, and engendering sustainable development in ASEAN and East Asia.

2. Manage policy study projects undertaken by economists and consultants contracted by ERIA.

Qualifications:
1. Education and experience
- Ph. D. in International Economics, Development Economics, Econometrics, Transport Economics, Political Economy of Economic Integration, or other related fields.
- Abundant experiences in the above fields or equivalent that can be proved by the record of publishing articles in professional or academic journals, edited volumes, and/or other established publications.

----Energy Economist----
Job Duties:
Under broad direction of the Governing Board, Executive Director, or other senior managerial officials,
1. Undertake analytical and quantitative policy-oriented work and posit policy recommendations on topics in the field of energy and environment under the ERIA's working pillar of sustainable development in East Asia.

2. Manage projects in the field of energy and environment undertaken by economists, experts, and consultants contracted by the ERIA.

Qualifications:
1. Education and experience
- Ph. D or equivalent in energy economics, environmental economics, energy or environment related to political economy of economic integration, or a related field.
- Abundant experiences in the above fields or equivalent, especially in the field of energy and environment, that can be proved by the record of publishing in professional or academic journals, edited volumes or other established publications.

---Common Conditions for Both Positions---
Job Duties:
1. Liaise with governments, business representatives, international organizations within ASEAN and East Asia and other relevant organizations. Attend meetings and symposiums and represent the ERIA as required.

2. Give lectures to government officials.

3. Supervise subordinate staff as required.

4. Any other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director of ERIA and other senior managerial officials.

Qualifications:
1. Education and experience
- Have a perspective of making practical policy recommendations.
- Outstanding knowledge and research experience on South East Asia, East Asia and South Asia are strongly preferred.

2. Key competencies
- Strong and proven capacity for analytical and policy- & business-oriented work; demonstrated ability to organize and conduct high quality original projects and synthesize complex information and issues.
- Capacity to adapt and to take initiatives. Proven ability to carry out several projects in parallel. Ability to co-operate efficiently with staffs in ERIA, the economists of other institutions, business people, and government officials within the region.

3. Language requirements
- Strong competence in oral and written English.

Working Conditions
1. Term
- Basically two-year fixed-term appointment, with a probationary period of 6 months.
- The term can be renewed by the re-appointment by the Executive Director, depending on his/her performance and continuation of projects in charge.

Office will be provided at the ERIA Annex Office.
