Full Text of JOE Listing:
ITIF,a DC-based think tank, seeks to hire a policy analyst to support a research program on the economics of innovation, productivity and growth. Ideal applicant is familiar with scholarly literature around innovation and productivity and appreciates the need for active government policies in these areas.

Develop and carry out policy research focusing on economic issues related to productivity,innovation and the evolution of U.S. economy.
Write policy reports, blogs, op eds, and other materials.
Speak at forums, testify at hearings, and engage in other outreach efforts.
Organize policy conferences, roundtables, and other events on U.S. innovation and competitiveness policy.

Graduate degree in economics, public policy or related field; additional experience is a plus
Understanding/familiarity with U.S. government economic statistics
Strong understanding of macroeconomics and the real workings of the U.S. economy
An understanding of/appreciation for "new-growth" theory (e.g., endogenous or evolutionary economics) as well as limitations of neoclassical economics approach to innovation
Understanding of relevant scholarly literature in the areas of innovation and productivity
Solid statistical skills
Excellent writing skills and ability to write for both general and policy audiences
Ability to communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences
