Full Text of JOE Listing:
Seeking experienced economist to conduct economic research related to housing policy issues and housing economics, and to serve as an internal consultant to other parts of the association regarding economic analysis and data. Position is also responsible for contributing articles to publications, monitoring related policy developments and supporting working groups by providing them with timely and accurate analysis of housing policy issues.

Qualified candidates will have a solid knowledge of economic theory and the ability to apply it; must be able to produce organized and credible analysis of proposed and existing policies by adapting and applying existing research and data to housing issues; have an advanced ability to manipulate data in spreadsheets, as well as the ability to write program code in a language such as SAS in order to combine and manipulate large data sets. Demonstrated ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences in both written and oral presentations is important.

Require 3 years of experience in utilizing data sources for housing, economic, financial, and demographic information, and have thorough understanding of economic theory and statistical techniques. Knowledge of government programs and policies useful. Also requires Ph.D. in Economics or related field or comparable in combined education and work experience.
