The Department of Economics at Dickinson College invites applications for a one-year visiting position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in the fall of 2013. Primary teaching responsibilities include Environmental Economics, introductory microeconomics, and Ecological Economics or another elective relating to sustainability or international studies. The teaching load will be five courses per year. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
Candidates for the position should have a Ph.D. in economics or be near completion of such a degree. An interest in interactive pedagogies at the introductory level is also desirable. Demonstrated excellence in teaching for a diverse student body is required. Knowledge of and ability to teach heterodox theories are highly valued in the department. The College is committed to building a representative and diverse faculty, administrative staff, and student body. We encourage applications from all qualified persons.
