Professor of Economics
The appointment will be full time on the UCL Professorial Grade. The salary range will be negotiable on the professorial scale, but not less than £62,731 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES)
is a world-leading multidisciplinary specialist institution for the study of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, the Baltics, and Russia.
This post holder will play a key role in developing the School's national and international reputation in economics and business that takes Russia, Central and East Europe as its primary region of reference. This will be achieved through personal research and knowledge exchange, and by catalysing existing strengths among colleagues currently working in: innovation studies and innovation policy, econometrics and applied macroeconomics, health economics and policy, corporate finance, international trade, FDI, migration, finance and entrepreneurship, institutional economics and development economics and rural development.
Applications are invited from all fields but preference will be given to applications from candidates working in the above areas of applied economics and/or policy. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership in research, knowledge exchange and teaching, and will have an established record in: publishing consistently in top international journals, success in attracting external research funding, engagement with a wide range of users, and developing and delivering teaching programmes to the highest standards at undergraduate, masters and PhD levels.
This appointment is available from 1st September 2013. The successful candidate will have a recognised international record of achievement in research as demonstrated through a series of publications that are world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour. The candidate will also provide evidence of a trajectory leading to further outstanding research achievement and leadership.
Potential applicants may wish to note that in addition to
removal expenses a relocation supplement of £9,000 may be
payable when it is necessary to relocate to take up an
appointment at UCL.
