Applications are invited for a tenure-track position in econometrics at the assistant professor level to begin 8/12/2013. Successful candidates will show a connection between their research and risk and uncertainty. We are seeking a candidate who can contribute to our planned Ph.D. program in Economics. The primary areas of focus for this position are: general econometrics; financial econometrics; and time-series econometrics.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in economics. ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by 12/31/13. Ph.D. required; however, ABD with significant qualifications may be considered for initial employment as Instructor. Candidates must have an active research agenda, and a commitment to effective teaching and service to the university, community, and profession. Candidates should demonstrate the capability to undertake scholarly research publishable in leading journals and to deliver effective teaching at the Ph.D. level. The ECU Department of Economics has successful undergraduate and M.S. programs, participates in interdisciplinary M.S. and Ph.D. programs, and also works closely with the ECU Center for Natural Hazards Research and ECU Institute for Coastal Science and Policy.
