The Harvard School of Public Health is looking for a post-doctoral fellow with an interest in early childhood development and labor economics. The fellow will work as part of a large and multidisciplinary group involving researchers from Harvard and partner institutions in the U.K., Pakistan and Tanzania. This work will comprise, but will not be restricted to, systematic literature reviews, the acquisition of national health and labor market data, and the analysis of a large number of international survey and intervention datasets. The post-doctoral fellowship appointment will be for 18-24 months, and should be started at the earliest date possible.
The successful candidates will have completed their doctoral degree in economics or applied statistics or related field by May 2013 or earlier. Knowledge in child health is a plus, but not required. The candidate needs to be familiar with state-of-the-art micro-econometric techniques, will be proficient in Stata and will have demonstrated the ability to work with complex data sets. Knowledge in the area of epidemiology and child health is a plus, but not required.
