The Health Policy Center analyzes trends and underlying causes of changes in health insurance coverage, access to care, the use of health care services, and health care spending by the entire U.S. population. Researchers address issues that arise from the inevitable trade-offs among health care costs, access, and quality. The center's focus has been on Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP public insurance programs that were created to serve elderly, disabled, and low-income individuals, but we also study private insurance markets and issues related to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. We are looking for individuals with strong quantitative research skills and with an interest in health policy, health services research or health economics. Individuals will have responsibility for conducting empirical studies and policy analyses and writing and presenting reports to academic and policy audiences. Position requires strong quantitative skills. Experience using micro-level databases is useful, but not essential. A combination of the quantitative, analytical, and writing skills, relevant substantive knowledge, and policy research experience needed to perform the duties described above, or the academic knowledge of and research experience in a discipline that is generally associated with the attainment of the Ph.D. People who recently received their degree as well as those with three to five years of experience will be considered.
Only those major job duties necessary for proper job evaluation and/or labor market analysis have been included. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor. The Urban Institute is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/V/H. Women and Minorities are encouraged to apply.
