The ESEI Center for Market Design at the University of Zurich is inviting applications for two Post-Doctoral Researcher positions.
The research of the ESEI Center focuses on the design of improved social, political, and economic institutions using theory and experiments. The research covers a wide range of topics including the analysis and design of auctions and markets, matching and voting institutions, communication in games, social learning and networks. The Center plans to fill:
1. One Postdoc position in theory or experiments
2. One Postdoc position that combines the development and support of JAVA based auction/market software with (experimental) research in this area
Candidates for position 1 should have completed their PhD in economics, and have a strong background in either theoretical or experimental research with a focus on mechanism design, auctions, networks, or political institutions.
Candidates for position 2 should in addition be proficient in JAVA. The position entails 50% programming time and 50% research, with some flexibility depending on the candidate's interests and skills.
The start date and terms of the positions are negotiable. Both positions are for two years with a possible extension to a third year. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until the positions are filled.
The ESEI Center offers an exciting work environment and excellent research facilities, including a well-equipped laboratory for conducting experiments.
