Merton College proposes to appoint a Fellow and Tutor in Economics for five years commencing on 1 September 2013. The main duties of the post will be: to teach undergraduates reading Economics for eight hours per week in full term and to co-ordinate the subjects involving Economics in the College; to pursue advanced research in Economics; and to undertake the duties of a Fellow of the College. The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in a relevant subject area and will have a high quality research profile. The ability to provide effective tutorial teaching to high-achieving undergraduates is essential. The postholder will also need to demonstrate aptitute for a full range of college academic duties and the willingness to contribute to Merton as a member of its Governing Body.
