Summit Consulting, LLC is a boutique consulting firm located in downtown Washington, DC, that specializes in providing state-of-the-art data analytics in support of public policy decision-making and litigation. Summit is currently expanding our team, and we have openings for candidates to join our team of consultants. Research Associates can expect to advise and collaborate with other team members, subject matter experts, and clients on a wide range of projects, and will serve as an internal resource on various methodological and research design issues.

Successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:
-Develop innovative approaches to analyze various business and public policy questions, using techniques including quasi-experimental design, survey data analysis, and econometric modeling.
-Serve as a principal investigator for applied research studies and program evaluation efforts conducted by Summit on behalf of our Federal agency clients.
-Working as part of a team, design research studies, lead data collection efforts, implement data analysis, write up results, and provide briefings to executive-level federal and other staff.
-Stay abreast of the latest developments in statistical methods, and serve as a firm resource on methodological and/or statistical issues.
-Clearly articulate results of analysis in written form and in presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements for this position include the following:
-Ph.D. in economics, statistics or a social science with a strong applied component.
-Proficiency with at least one statistical software package (SAS, SPSS, Matlab, R, or Stata).
-Strong written and client-facing communication skills.
-Senior Research Associates must have five or more years of relevant work experience.

Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
-Work experience in a Federal agency, a research organization, or for a professional services firm.
-Experience leading applied research efforts as a principal investigator or lead researcher.
-Specific expertise in time-series modeling
-Experience or strong knowledge of labor economics.

Interviews may be held at the January 2013 AEA Meetings.
