The Department of Public Administration and International Affairs in Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track assistant or associate professor in public policy analysis. The substantive policy areas may include, but are not limited to, health policy and/or social welfare policy, from a domestic or comparative perspective.

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the economics and/or evaluation of health and health care policy. A secondary and potentially overlapping area of interest is the low-income population and policies to address poverty. The successful candidate will complement the broader Maxwell mission and have interdisciplinary interests. Experience conducting applied policy research and communicating with policymakers is preferred.

The Department of Public Administration and International Affairs has been ranked first among graduate programs in public affairs since the U.S. News & World Report rankings began and in the top 20 masters programs in International Relations by Foreign Affairs. The faculty consists of outstanding researchers and teachers dedicated to original scholarship that bridges the academic-practitioner divide in public administration, policy, and governance. The Department supports the largest share of Maxwell graduate students, offering six degree and three certificate programs, including a Masters and Executive Masters in Public Administration, a Masters and Executive Masters in International Relations, a Masters in Public Health, and a Doctorate in Public Administration.

Initial consideration of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The appointee will assume the position in the Fall of 2013.
