Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Department of Global Health Systems and Development (GHSD) at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (SPHTM) is recruiting to fill up to three tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate level. The selection committee will give preference to applicants with an earned doctoral degree in the area of health policy and management, economics, sociology, or related fields. The department values strong methodological skills, publication in peer reviewed journals, and teaching experience.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a strong program of research with extramural funding in an area consistent with the Department's mission, with high priority placed on health systems, health services, health economics and finance, and health information systems. In addition, the preferred candidate will teach in the Department's academic programs, mentor and advise students, participate on doctoral committees, and serve on other School committees. Applicants will be evaluated on their achievement to date and potential in the areas of research, publication, and teaching. Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department of Global Health Systems and Development comprises 30 full-time faculty members from a range of disciplines (health systems management, demography, economics, epidemiology, finance, sociology, organizational theory, law, tropical medicine). Their research reflects the global mission of the Tulane SPHTM, spanning countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America/Caribbean, and North America, including the greater New Orleans area, Louisiana, and the United States. Faculty research clusters around several areas, including health systems (e.g., health systems financing, health care delivery, information systems, quality improvement), disasters and emergency preparedness, population and migration, reproductive health, HIV and infectious diseases. The GHSD academic program consists of the degrees: Master of Public Health, Master of Health Administration, Doctor of Philosophy, and Doctor of Science (taught in an executive format).

We especially encourage female and minority candidates to apply. Tulane and New Orleans are communities that value diversity.

Tulane University is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer committed to excellence through diversity.
