Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Research Institute (JICA-RI, http://jica-ri.jica.go.jp/index.html) was established on October 1, 2008 to focus on policy-oriented, academically solid studies that address the important issues faced by developing countries and to conduct research for the purpose of solving development issues of developing countries and contributing to JICA's aid strategies.
