The International Projects Division (INPRO) of NORC at the University of Chicago invites applications for a Research Scientist position based in our Washington, DC area offices. INPRO conducts rigorous impact evaluations and other research-related activities in the field of international development. Our rapidly growing portfolio of projects spans a wide range of social and economic development subject areas such as agriculture, food security, land, health and education, infrastructure, and finance, among others.

The responsibilities of the position will include:
--Leading the design and implementation of development-related impact evaluations and research studies
--Providing analytical input and support across a range of projects
--Data analysis and reporting of results
--Monitoring data collection activities to ensure consistency with analytical objectives
--Proposal writing and development

Representing NORC's expertise in a specific research or policy area through technical communications, testimony, publications in peer-reviewed journals and other outlets, and conferences

The successful candidate will have a PhD either in hand or expected shortly. Experience with project management, data collection, and impact evaluation, using experimental and quasi-experimental designs, is required; further professional experience is highly desirable. The candidate must have a solid grounding in microeconometric methods related to impact evaluation. Excellent interpersonal/communications skills as well as the ability to effectively represent the organization to clients and in other professional settings is essential.
