The Becker Friedman Institute for Research in Economics at the University of Chicago invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position to begin August, 2013 with the expectation of continued funding for two years. The Institute supports inquiry on central questions of economic and social significance in the University's long tradition of rigorous economic thinking combined with careful, data-driven analysis.
The scholar will be part of a motivated and committed team working on field and laboratory experiments in applied microeconomics. The scholar is expected to be fully engaged in core activities of selected research projects and initiatives, including developing theory, designing experiments and analyzing data.
Candidates should have a strong background in applied microeconomics, with a focus on the experimental methodology and behavioral economics. Candidates from other research fields that are unrelated to experimental and behavioral economics will not be considered. Candidates should have received their PhD prior to beginning the position. We seek candidates with the ability to generate and publish research of the highest quality with the assumption that the candidate is on a path to a career at a major research university.
