Director, CBER
Qualifications: Ph.D. or other terminal degree in economics, finance, or related field; demonstrated record of scholarship and sponsored research in business, economic development, transportation, education, or taxation; excellence in written/oral communication skills required. The successful candidate is expected to serve as a catalyst for new research projects. Ability to lead and secure funding to support research is crucial.
Duties: Function as the head of Center staff with responsibility for the management of the Center's financial, personnel and administrative operations; carry out research, outreach, and business development activities consistent with the mission of Marshall University and the Center; provide leadership in obtaining external, competitively funded research and/or educational awards; ensure that CBER staff members are supported in their efforts to provide excellent and responsive research results to the stakeholders throughout the region; establish and maintain relationships with legislative committees, executive agencies, business and professional groups and other University entities and offices.
