The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) seeks an outstanding junior (new Ph.D. or out fewer than five years) health economist to be hired as a Service Fellow. The initial appointment will be for two years, though is renewable. The fellow will be expected to spend nearly all of his or her time producing academic research for publication in top-level journals using NCHS data. Interest in working with survey(e.g., National Health Interview Survey, National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey) data linked with administrative records such as Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid records is a strong plus. The position is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Candidates must have a Ph.D, in hand by August 2013. Salary will be in the range of $74,872 - $115,742 depending on experience.
