The Department of Management at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (aka New Mexico Tech) seeks an economist for a tenure-track position. Applicants should have research interests in mineral economics, energy markets and policy, agent-based modeling and simulation of social and economic systems, financial markets, or related areas.
Applicants must hold a PhD or be near completion of their doctoral studies. Undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in science or engineering are desirable, as is industrial experience. In addition to research requirements, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate engineering economics as well as an additional graduate course in the fall and spring semesters.
The Management Department at New Mexico Tech http://management.nmt.edu) has active research programs in the above areas along with internal alliances with various entities, including the Institute for Complex Additive Systems Analysis and the New Mexico Tech Information Technology Program.
