Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Sam and Irene Black School of Business at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College is seeking applicants for a non-tenure track position in economics. The appointment will begin August 2013. A Ph.D. or ABD is preferred candidates with an appropriate Master's degree and a strong teaching record may be considered. High-quality teaching is required and an active program of scholarship is expected. Preferred fields include applied business economics and/or health economics. The initial appointment will be for two years with the possibility of yearly renewal after two years.

The appointment will be made at the rank of lecturer or assistant professor depending on qualifications and experience. The teaching assignment is equivalent to 24 credits per academic year. Teaching includes one section of upper-level undergraduate course (e.g., health economics) each semester and, three sections of introductory microeconomics per semester. There is also a possibility to teach one or more additional upper-level undergraduate courses in the candidate's fields of expertise.

Research support includes funded travel to present papers at professional meetings, research support, office computers, and access to major statistical packages and databases.

The College is located on a beautiful 854-acre campus, only minutes from Pennsylvania's fourth-largest city. Erie offers great recreational and cultural activities as well as modest housing costs. Buffalo, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh are all within two hours by interstate highway. Employment offer includes funds for moving expenses.

The Black School of Business is AACSB accredited and offers nine undergraduate majors, the MBA, and the Master of Project Management. It occupies a new $30 million facility and is supported by a $28 million endowment, which supports undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships, library and information technology resources, executive education and outreach activities, several faculty chairs, and the Economic Research Institute of Erie.
