The Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the assistant or junior associate professor level in the Department of Leadership, Foundations, and Policy in the area of Education Policy. Incumbent teaches Ph.D. and undergraduate courses in Education Policy, conducts research on issues in education policy, mentors and advises Ph.D. students, participates in funded research, and contributes to a collaborative work environment.

All candidates must have an earned Ph.D. in Education Policy, Public Policy, Economics or a related field by the start date of the position. A commitment to excellence in teaching and an interest in working collaboratively with faculty and students at all levels is required. Experience teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in education policy, quantitative methods, or economics is strongly preferred. Potential for outstanding research and teaching commensurate with a Research I institution is essential as is demonstrated ability to apply rigorous quantitative research methods to evaluate educational programs and analyze educational policies. Substantive understanding of education policy research literature in early childhood education, K-12 education, or post-secondary education is also required.

The ideal candidate will be interested in conducting applied research with tangible policy implications and will have experience with/interest in working with school systems and policy makers to improve policies. Candidates whose work focuses on improving the educational outcomes of underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.
