The Department of Economics at Harvard University is seeking an Adviser-Lecturer to work with and teach undergraduates in the economics program. Duties will consist mainly of teaching two undergraduate courses per academic year and advising economics undergraduates on curricular planning and career paths. Related duties will include holding information sessions for prospective economics students, staffing office hours, informing concentrators about research opportunities, and signing study cards.
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Economics or a related field and have evidence of successful teaching experience. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary, plus a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education and an ability to work with diverse constituencies. Competitive salary. Application deadline is Dec 1, 2012, with first-round interviews to be held at the AEA meetings in San Diego in January, 2013.
